AI in Healthcare Masterclass (16th January 2026)
The event featured insightful sharings by A/Prof Liang Zhong (Senior Clinician-Innovator at Duke-NUS Medical School and Director of the Cardiovascular System Imaging & AI Lab) and Dr Dinesh V. Gunasekeran (Healthcare Technology Leader, Clinician Scientist at the MOH Office of Healthcare Innovation and Commonwealth Innovation Fellow), who discussed how artificial intelligence is transforming clinical workflows, diagnostics and decision-making in real-world healthcare settings.
Participants gained practical perspectives on translating AI and MedTech innovations into deployable clinical solutions, including ongoing trials in local hospitals, while engaging in candid conversations on the opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations surrounding AI adoption. The session also provided a platform for clinicians, technologists, and students to connect and exchange ideas at the intersection of medicine, technology, and entrepreneurship.
MedTech Business Masterclass (27th October 2025)
The event featured an engaging sharing by Dr. Ian Mathews (Emergency Physician, Deputy Group CTO of NUHS, and Stanford Biodesign Global Fellow), Dr. Monika Mehta, PhD (Co-founder & CEO, Zealth-AI; Antler & Y Combinator-backed founder), and Ms. Dorothea K. (Co-founder & CEO, Bot MD; former Baxter Healthcare & Medtronic executive), who discussed how MedTech innovations are brought from concept to market.
It also offered a platform for students and innovators to connect, exchange ideas, and gain insights into design thinking, commercialization, and the startup journey in healthcare innovation.
Brain-Computer Interfacing Workshop (15th September 2025)
Team HealthX kicked off AY25/26 with an inspiring workshop on the future of Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI), in collaboration with g.tec medical engineering. The event brought the NUS community together to explore how neuroscience and technology converge to revolutionize healthcare and human–computer interaction.
Participants enjoyed an engaging keynote by Ms. Christy Li, hands-on demos with cutting-edge neural devices, and networking with MedTech experts and peers. The workshop showcased the transformative potential of BCIs in healthcare, rehabilitation, and research—empowering future innovators to push the boundaries of neurotechnology.
NUS KCL Medical Innovation Challenge (26th February 2025)
Our first ever global Medical Innovation Challenge to tackle real-world
healthcare issues and meet like-minded individuals (over 60 competitors!). The competition served as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship, allowing students to showcase their expertise in MedTech and creativity. There was strong support and collaboration with Professors and international partners.
Innovation Sharing 2: Regenerative Medicine (7th February 2025)
An exclusive sharing and panel discussion where participants explored groundbreaking advancements in stem cell research and regenerative medicine!
Mingle and Jingle (25th January 2025)
The event offered networking opportunities with like-minded enthusiasts and a sharing by Marymount Labs, a digital health startup revolutionizing patient
engagement software for preventive healthcare. It also provided a platform to find like-minded individuals to share their ideas and learn from previous Hackathon winners.
Design for Medicine (17th November 2024 – 17th July 2025)
The Design for Medicine programme was a cross-disciplinary initiative bringing together students and faculty from the Faculties of Medicine and Design to co-create innovative healthcare solutions.
It was a great opportunity for inter-disciplinary collaboration and close
mentorship of both clinical and design mentors. There was strong support of faculty with good access to required resources.
Innovation Sharing 1: Medical Innovation (15th November 2024)
A panel discussion and networking event to discuss the latest technology used in healthcare. The themes of discussion surrounded current healthcare challenges, innovations being implemented to address them, and emerging opportunities in the MedTech space.
NUHS Innovation Showcase (7th October 2024)
A sharing by Dr James Lee, assistant CTO, NUH, to learn more about
cutting-edge medical technology and its impact on transforming healthcare at NUH, a tertiary level hospital. The sharing provided exciting updates of the medical innovation field. It was pitched at an appropriate level to the undergraduate students.
3D Printing Workshop (19th September 2024)
This workshop was held in conjunction with AM.NUS to educate participants on 3D printing technology and its application in medical innovation. Participants toured the 3D printing facilities and experimented with 3D printed models.
